Dania Jai-Alai, located in Dania Beach, was one of the most iconic jai-alai frontons in the United States. Known for the fast-paced Basque sport often called the "game of a thousand thrills," the venue attracted fans from across South Florida and beyond. When it opened on December 23, 1953, Dania Jai-Alai was only the second professional fronton in the U.S., helping establish South Florida as the heart of American jai-alai.

Strategically situated near Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and 30 minutes north of South Beach, the venue became a major entertainment destination. The 220,000-square-foot facility-dubbed the "Showplace of Jai-Alai"-offered seating for 5,600 spectators and featured restaurants, cocktail lounges, bars, banquet facilities, snack bars, simulcast betting areas, and well-lit parking. Annual attendance often exceeded 500,000 visitors.

Dania Jai-Alai regularly hosted major tournaments sanctioned by the National Association of Jai-Alai Frontons, including the Dania/Miami Challenge, Florida Cup, Battle of Champions, and NAJF Mini-Tournament. The fronton's professional court featured the following dimensions:

These dimensions provided the ideal arena for high-speed, gravity-defying action, making every match an unforgettable spectacle for fans.

After nearly seven decades, regular live jai-alai ended at Dania in November 2021 due to declining popularity and changes in Florida's gambling laws. However, the sport briefly returned for special live competitions, including events in 2024 and early 2026, such as the Biscayne Cup held from February 15-22, 2026, bringing professional pelotaris back to the historic fronton for a limited series of matches. These events offered fans a rare chance to witness live jai-alai in action once again, keeping the venue's legacy alive.

Today, while regular professional jai-alai matches no longer take place, the site continues as part of The Casino @ Dania Beach, preserving its place in history as one of the most significant homes of jai-alai in the United States.
